Just months into their placements for the year, LFNC Fellows working in western North Carolina faced unexpected challenges when Hurricane Helene hit the region in September 2024. Below are the stories of three Fellows working in western North Carolina and how they jumped in to help their communities recover from the disaster.
ROSEBORO — A new face has come to the western Sampson town as part of the Lead for North Carolina local government fellows program to help bring about more of the continued growth blooming in the town.
Hannah Jones, who graduated from the UNC-Chapel Hill this year, is serving with Warren County government though June as a Lead for North Carolina Fellow.
