John Waterman is serving his fellowship with Washington County overseeing collaborative efforts between state, private, and local organizations working to expand broadband access in the county. He is also a member of the team responsible for developing strategic documents central to the administration of the county, and serves as an assistant to the county attorney.

John graduated summa cum laude from Appalachian State University with aBS in Political Science and minors in History and Interdisciplinary Studies. Hehas experience with student and local aid resources and is transitioning to acareer in public service through law school. John is passionate about civilrights work and aims to contribute to organizations dedicated to publicservice, embodying a core commitment to putting the community first.
