During her time at Appalachian State University, she was an ACCESS scholar and GoodwinMeissner scholar and was inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha, the NationalPolitical Science Honor Society. Anizet’s dedication extended beyondacademics; she captained the university debate team and achievedrecognition as “National Champion in Spanish Language Interpretation,”using poetry to raise awareness about violence against women. Anizetcontributed to the Student Government Association and Latin HispanicAlliance, while also mentoring youth through the Western Youth Network.Since completing her undergraduate studies, Anizet has taken pride inapplying her classroom knowledge to drive positive change, particularlywithin local government. Her experience with her hometown Parks andRecreation department deepened her commitment to public service andcommunity advancement through the LFNC program.
