At Duke University, Madison chaired the Community Engagement for Duke’s Chapter of the NAACP, served as Vice-Chair for the Service & Outreach Committee of theBlack Women’s Union, was a member of the National Italian Honor Society, and received the Romance Studies Department’s Faculty Book Award. She interned with the North Carolina League of Conservation Voters Foundation, working within their Boards and Commissions Fellowship and aiding in educating participants on local government fundamentals. Madison believes that progress begins at the local level. A proponent of environmental justice, she hopes to become an environmental lawyer. To achieve this, she aims to understand policymaking beyond textbooks by engaging with the community and participating in the decision-making process through LFNC, gaining insights for her future endeavors.
