Sydney is a Durham, NC native and recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Public Policy and Global Studies, where she focused on Latin American Studies and the dynamics of nation-states and social movements. Her academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of health, migration, education, and public service. She has experience in direct service and advocacy with migrant and refugee communities through World Relief Durham and Refugee Community Partnership, as well as in early childhood education and health and wellness. She is passionate about using strategic communication, research, and storytelling to advance inclusive policy and systems-wide change. In her spare time, she loves to be at the gym, spend quality time with friends and family, cook, and study interior design for fun.
