Sebastian Provencio is the Lead for NC Fellow for the Town of Carrboro. Sebastian graduated magna cum laude from Davidson College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Environmental Social Science. He received honors for his senior thesis, “Community Engagement and Social License to Operate: An Analysis of Two Lithium Mining Projects,” a study which examined the relationships and power dynamics between mineral companies and local communities in North Carolina. Previously, Sebastian spent time working with the Town of Davidson through the Davidson Sustainability Scholars program, where he helped the Town gather data for their Climate Action Plan and submit their application for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
