Biography
Philomena Golden served her fellowship with the City of Statesville. She led the Stormwater GIS Project, which monitored important outfall and culvert locations so the City’s flood plan and data would be up-to-date for future rainfall planning and storm prevention. Additionally, Golden was responsible for conducting community outreach to increase transparency between citizens and the Department of Public Works.
Before LFNC
Golden graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in political science and Asian studies with a South Asia concentration and a minor in history. Golden was a member of the Marching Tar Heels and worked on community betterment projects as an intern for the Campus and Community Coalition.
