She presented research at the 2024 Pi Sigma AlphaNational Student Research Conference and published in ÒDignity: AnUndergraduate Human Rights Journal.Ó Ona is excited to focus on acommunity closer to home after studying abroad in Spain and Japan. Onahas wanted to study political science and pursue a career in politics since8th grade. LFNC provides an opportunity to immerse herself in Murphy, NC,grow professionally, and stay connected to her Appalachian roots. She aimsto improve lives in Western North Carolina through policy and research. Onawas the valedictorian at the UNC Ð Asheville forspring 2024.
