Marco was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. His academic and career interests lie in urban politics, policy, and planning. His thesis, which received the highest honors, examined the effect of neighborhood demographics on rezoning approval rates. Marco’s recent work experiences include serving asa resident advisor for Carolina Housing and a policy intern for UNC-Chapel Hill’s Protection of Minors Office. Marco is passionate about creating strong communities through innovative and equitable development. This opportunity also supports his lifelong education and his goal to attend graduate school and pursue a career in urban policy or planning, hoping to address inequities in housing, transit, and overall quality of life in North Carolina.
