Maëva graduated from Western Carolina University with a BS in Criminal Justice and a minor in Spanish. At the young age of 12 Maëva Hassani moved to Forest City, North Carolina from France with her mother and two siblings. Even with the language barrier, Maëva strived to lead and make a difference wherever she could. While enrolled at WCU, Maëva became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She served the following academic year as NPHC president. During her college career Maëva was also part of the Student Code of Conduct board, Police Community Advisory Committee, Black Student Union, and served as a mentor to a freshman.
