Jurisdiction: Town of Roseboro

University: Fayetteville State University

Hometown: Bowie, MD

Juliette Gwanfogbe serves as a Lead for North Carolina Fellow with the Town of Roseboro, where she supports downtown revitalization, community beautification, and preparations for future commercial growth. During her fellowship, Juliette will help address downtown vacancies by engaging property owners, sharing information about historic tax credits and other incentives, identifying potential businesses, updating the Town’s vacant building ordinance, and developing regular communications that encourage the reuse of vacant storefronts. She will also support downtown beautification and community engagement by coordinating seasonal plantings and decorations, developing signage and historical information, improving public spaces such as the downtown alleyway, and assisting with community events, including BloomFest, concerts, and holiday celebrations. In addition, Juliette will research and recommend updates to zoning regulations and local ordinances, compare Roseboro’s policies with those of similar communities, draft potential amendments for Town Board consideration, and help communicate approved changes to residents and businesses. Through these projects, she is gaining hands-on experience in economic development, Main Street revitalization, community engagement, zoning and ordinance development, business recruitment, project management, and presenting policy recommendations to local officials.

Juliette Gwanfogbe serves as a Lead for North Carolina Fellow in Roseboro. A summa cum laude graduate of Fayetteville State University, Juliette participated in research opportunities, presented at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research, and earned numerous academic honors, including the Chancellor’s Award and Political Science Student of the Year.
