David Simmons served his fellowship in the Town of Wilkesboro, where he was responsible for traveling to all municipal-owned parks and public spaces to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Simmons also assisted with the distribution of COVID-19 relief funds and served as a leader on the Town’s tourism and development boards and committees.

Simmons graduated from UNC-Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in history.
