Hannah Elkins served her fellowship in Hyde County. She administered the County’s Urgent Repair Program, a project funded by an NC Housing Finance Agency grant. The program provides opportunities for elderly and low-income homeowners to receive assistance in repairing their homes. Elkins secured over $2.1 million to support Hyde County initiatives. Her work increased partnerships between island and mainland boards and improved organizational efficiency.

Elkins graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with honors. During her senior year, she studied abroad with the UNC Honors College in London, UK, and interned for a member of Parliament.
