Jurisdiction: Boiling Springs

University: Davidson College

Hometown: Sumter, SC

Greyson Sonntag served his fellowship in the Town of Boiling Springs. He secured roughly $250,000 in grant funds, with a majority allocated for the transformational Downtown Courtyard project. He also implemented the Town’s first online permitting system. Sonntag organized seven community events and wrote four ordinances, one of which addressed a three-decade-old concern for town residents regarding the new sewer extension policy. He played an integral role in the application for a $2.6 million grant for downtown streetscapes and in planning the Music on Main concert series to highlight local artists.

Sonntag graduated cum laude from Davidson College and was inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha honor society. Greyson was a member of the varsity football team. While at Davidson, he actively participated in the Theatre Department and was the treasurer of Phi Delta Theta. He previously interned on Capitol Hill, at The Borgen Project, and with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce.
