Jurisdiction: Town of Jamestown

University: NC State

Hometown: Winston-Salem, NC

Before joining LFNC, Debra spent nearly two years at Activate Good, where she honed her skills in fundraising and volunteer organizing, fostering her passion for civic engagement and community-building. With leadership roles in student government and internships at state and federal levels, Debra’s roots in Winston-Salem inspired her love for local government, shaped by its vibrant arts scene. As an amateur artist, she cherishes cultural events and art spaces. Post LFNC, Debra plans to pursue a Masters in PublicAdministration, aiming to specialize in strategic budgeting. Core to her identity is a staunch defense of gray areas and the belief that multiple truths can coexist, driving her empathy, curiosity, and optimism. She advocates for sustainability through second-hand shopping, volunteering, and biking whenever possible.
