Cici Flynn-Nesbeth serves as a Lead for North Carolina Fellow with the City of Goldsboro, where she supports public communication, transparency, and community engagement. During her fellowship, Cici will develop the “We Serve You” short-form video series to highlight City employees and help residents better understand the services their local government provides. She will also support broader strategic communications efforts by creating content for social media, the City’s website, newsletters, videos, and public information campaigns in response to community survey findings that identified communication as a key area for improvement. In addition, Cici will assist with community engagement initiatives such as the City’s Citizens’ Academy, outreach for City events, and other efforts to increase civic participation and strengthen relationships between residents and local government. Through these projects, she is gaining hands-on experience in public-sector communications, video production and editing, storytelling, content strategy, project management, event planning, community engagement, and translating complex government information into accessible content for the public.

Cici Flynn-Nesbeth graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with degrees in Political Science and Latin American Studies and a minor in History. A Carolina Covenant Scholar, Cici has researched affirmative action, housing access, and climate migration while serving in numerous campus leadership roles. Cici is passionate about economic equity, access to education, and inclusive policy.
