Avery Williams is the Lead for North Carolina Fellow for the Cape Fear Council of Governments. Born and raised in Greensboro, Avery has a love for North Carolina and its residents that strikes a personal chord. She graduated with high distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Global Studies and Hispanic Studies. While in undergrad, Avery was inducted into two honor societies: Sigma Delta Pi, the Hispanic honor society, and Phi Beta Kappa, a prestigious academic honor society. Her previous experience with the nonprofit Student Action with Farmworkers spurred her interest in public service and advocacy.
