Biography

Yasharth Singh served his fellowship with the Upper Coastal Plain Council of Governments, working with governments in Edgecombe, Halifax, Nash, Northampton, and Wilson Counties. He led stakeholder engagement efforts for regional opioid program management and established vital relationships with regional groups including Area Health Engagement Centers and Carolina Family Health Centers. Singh’s role as an opioid navigator was important in assessing the regional landscape and ensuring program sustainability. He also planned the region’s annual aging conference. His research and analysis was expected to pave the way for securing a grant of $200,000 to benefit the Council and the region.

Before LFNC

Singh graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. While at Carolina, he managed a student body presidential campaign, did research in genetics, and volunteered at hospitals and as a tutor at local middle schools.
