Averie Rae Parker served her fellowship in the Towns of Red Oak and Nashville. In Red Oak, she ensured all government records are accessible through digitization and played a key role in community engagement by planning multiple community events. She also secured $54,000 in funding to help ensure Town compliance with the ADA. In Nashville, her efforts modernized record retention and collection. Parker also played a crucial role in increasing community engagement initiatives and promoting communications to residents.

Parker graduated summa cum laude from East Carolina University. While attending ECU, she was a member of the Pre-Law Society and inducted into the Alpha Kappa Delta honor society. She is a public education advocate and spent much of her free time tutoring students to prepare for standardized testing.
