Olivia Leggett served her fellowship in Rockingham County. She played a crucial role in the County’s budget process and implemented various initiatives outlined by the Employee Morale Committee to boost employee satisfaction and retention in a small and rural jurisdiction. Leggett’s creation of a salary forecasting document improved budgeting efficiency, while her work with the committee, including organizing events like the winter walk and conducting benchmark analyses, helped foster a strong organizational culture.

Leggett graduated cum laude from Elon University with bachelor’s degree in economics and minors in policy studies and German studies. She wrote her undergraduate thesis on the effect of the gender pay gap on economic growth. She also served as president of German Club and received the Marsilius von Inghen Award for Excellence in German Studies.
