Nicholas Boyd served his fellowship in Lenoir County. He revised the County’s subdivision ordinance to adopt floodplain development standards. These efforts led to a five percent reduction in homeowners’ flood insurance costs through a successful Community Rating Survey. Boyd’s work contributed to significant financial relief for residents and reinforced the County’s commitment to disaster preparedness and cost savings. He also created a streamlined facilities management plan for Lenoir County.

Boyd graduated magna cum laude from Davidson College with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in Arab studies. His previous experience included working at Orient-Occident, a nonprofit serving migrants and refugees in Rabat, Morocco.
