Noor Sandhu served her fellowship with the Town of Apex. As a result of Sandhu’s work, the Town was able to complete and publish its first-ever Annual Housing Report. Additionally, she established the Town’s first nine-member Housing Advisory Board and helped create the Town’s first affordable housing inventory database. Sandhu also increased community awareness and improved program marketing materials for the newly-created Apex Cares Housing Rehabilitation Program.

Sandhu graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a certificate in child policy research. While at Duke, she served as a senator in Duke Student Government on the Services and Sustainability Committee. She served as president of Duke Club Tennis, leading the team to third-place ranking nationally. Sandhu was also founder and president of the Duke Sikh Society. She served as an officer and vice president of marketing in the Alexander Hamilton Society and was an international law columnist for the Duke Juris Undergraduate Law Review Magazine. Sandhu has experience in various levels of government and was a legislative intern for U.S. Rep. David Price in Washington D.C.
