Lauren Koesy served her fellowship in Wake County. She created a report for the behavioral health team that outlined needs and opportunities to increase access to behavioral resources. She conducted a listening tour of stakeholders in the county that ranged from medical providers to counselors to people with lived experience. This report informed recommendations about what steps could be taken to increase access to appropriate resources for residents.

Koesy graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with bachelor’s degrees in public policy and English literature. She worked as a community organizer for education equity in Chapel Hill for two years before interning for a housing rights organization in Chicago.
