Skye Allan served her fellowship in the Town of Spencer. Her service plan focused on developing a festival to promote economic development and creating a large-scale mural restoration project for the Town. Allan secured $20,000 in grants to create the murals now seen in Spencer. She also worked to increase the local government’s visibility and responsiveness to the community.

After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and English literature, Allan worked in outdoor education around the country. This included work as an environmental and occupational health and safety intern with a multinational manufacturing company.
