Biography

Louisa Sholar served her fellowship in the City of Burlington. She created the City’s Neighborhood Development program, including preparing a resource kit for program launch. The Neighborhood Development program provides resources to burgeoning neighborhood groups in Burlington to develop a better relationship with the City, help groups build capacity to reach their own goals, and contribute to a placemaking and identity-building tradition within the community.

Before LFNC

Sholar graduated from Elon University with a bachelor’s degree in international and global studies and minors in political science and poverty and social justice studies. While at Elon, she served as student body vice president and speaker of the senate. She received multiple academic and leadership honors, including induction into Phi Kappa Phi, Pi Sigma Alpha, and Phi Beta Kappa.
