Chip Roth serves as a Lead for North Carolina Fellow with the Town of Wallace, where he supports public communication, financial management, and planning for future growth. During his fellowship, Chip will lead a communications initiative that includes revamping the Town newsletter, developing a social media policy and Instagram presence, expanding emergency notification tools, creating bilingual English-Spanish communication templates, and increasing outreach to Latino residents and the broader community. He will also assist with audits, budgeting, capital planning, financial documentation, revenue and expenditure analysis, and presentations to the Town Council, gaining broad exposure to governmental accounting, internal controls, and municipal budgeting. In addition, Chip will work with the Planning, Community Development, and Code Enforcement departments on the Unified Development Ordinance, zoning, permitting, public hearings, ordinances, and ArcGIS while helping improve public access to zoning information and preparing the Town for continued economic growth. Through these projects, he is gaining hands-on experience in community engagement, local government finance, strategic planning, GIS, municipal planning, public communication, and cross-departmental operations.

Chip Roth graduated from Davidson College with degrees in History and French. Interested in government and public service, Chip aspires to become an urban planner working in the public sector. Outside of work, Chip enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and exploring nature.
