At Appalachian State University, Carla played on the women’s club rugby team, later serving as president. With prior experience in political organizing and campaign finance, she is excited to apply her past experience to community-building efforts and looks forward to forging connections with people and communities across the state. Carla has always wanted her pursuits to be service-oriented. She believes community and lasting change are built through how we all show up for each other, aiming to embody that philosophy in everything she does. Finding purpose in showing up for people in whatever way she can, Carla is committed to working towards meaningful change and fostering stronger community consciousness.
