During her time in college, she was a student orientation leader, a resident advisor, and was a racial equity coordinator for a local nonprofit, Grow Your World. Some of her most valuable experiences were through volunteer work with Project Hope Ministries and TABLE.

On why local government: While at Kenan-Flagler, I became a member of the Community, Equity and Inclusion board where I was able to advocate for underrepresented students in both the community and professional sphere. I want to serve in local government to help support overlooked communities to be an advocate and try to provide a culturally inclusive perspective, but also learn more about local government. I am excited about the opportunity to learn more about the needs of the community, the different skills community members have, and potential ways we can empower the communities we serve.
